WIAW: Busy busy butta butta

Well. Creativity is not flowing this week ya’ll. Writers block? Fatigue? Don’t know. All I know is I want a big bowl of warm oats, a few mugs of glorious coffee, a few hours (mm, days) on my couch and absolutely nothing world shattering to come out of my “writing utensils”. But no time for couch living this week. Busy busy here. So as I day dream about days off and endless mugs of…

Week in Review: Recipe Edition and Ode to Bloggers

Hi! Welcome back from your weekend! I’m chiming in for a quick “Week in Review,” recap. I almost had to forgo it this week, but the thought of not listing out what I did last week made me a little sad. I would have done it in my head anyways, so might as well get it down in ink (er, digital something-or-other). I didn’t get toooo many extra things done last week…

Week In Review: Brushing off and Bro-ing down

Some… interesting… things happened last week. But I got most of that out of my system here. This time, however,  is not where I think about things that have happened, but rather all the things that I did – in spite of and above all lifes’ little complications. Curious to know more? Let this wonderful lady explain her link up baby to you (and send her a lovely congrats while you’re at it). What did…

Pumpkin Baking: Zucchini Muffins and Vegan Scones

Pumpkin Baking.  My favorite fall activity.  For years I’ve been collecting/hoarding baking recipes to one day try. Many get made… many don’t.  I love experimenting with different flours and “weird” ingredients (#beans #veggies). Ever since I was very little, I’ve always loved making up experiments and mixing things together. Lucky for my taste-testers, I’ve grown from the days I’d make…

Week in Review: Ending off October

So um… happy November? Excuse me, what!? I, for one, am no where near close to thinking of things like snow and reindeer noses. I’ll keep playing in leaves, thank you very much. So then its a good thing this past week was full of beautiful fall weather to send October off right and keep me sane. I had a week off from classes, but I did begin rehearsals for my next show so it wasn&#8217…

Week in Review: There’s Always Something

Another week has gone by, which means its time to list up! Thanks a million to the lovely host, Meghan. So, last week this link up was easy-peasy. I felt like I had a very productive week, did lots of new things, ate lots of new, good food, and therefore had all the tools for an interesting post. Then this week… I didn’t feel this way at all. At least when it came to Friday.  When…

Thanksgiving

To all my fellow Canadians – Happy Thanksgiving! Today is Thanksgiving Monday, which means this weekend was (and may continue to be) full of thoughts of family, gratitude, fall colors, friends and turkey. Thanksgiving – and all holidays – always bring their tug-a-war of ups and downs. It’s hard being away from family, and just the fall air can fill you with nostalgia and homesickness.  And eating disorders…. hate holidays. Sigh. This has got to…

WIAW: “Acting your age”

It’s been a little heavy around here lately. I apologize. But… I also don’t apologize because this place is for honesty and showing up in whatever mess you find yourself in. It’s just been one of those patches. But ALAS, enough of that!! Time to lighten things up! And what a better way than by simply celebrating .. FOOOOOD. Thanks, as always, to Jenn for the link up! These are my eats from Monday…

Weekend Smiles

It’s Monday! I’m leaving any heaviness behind and focusing on what’s good. Go see Katie and Erin and see what marvelous things were happening this weekend! What had me smiling this weekend!? BAKING PARTY!! Sunday afternoon consisted of making a complete and utter mess of my kitchen, overflowing my sink with dishes, and loving every moment of it. Complete with 90s dance party. Of course. On the menu this weekend… Chelsea’s…

Chicken and Fig Salad with Goat Cheese Dressing (plus Lately: Kitchen Creations)

This Chicken and Fig Salad with Goat Cheese Dressing is possibly one of the most unique salads I’ve made up to date! Its combination of unique tastes and textures make for one seemingly fancy, delicious and filling meal.  But first! My recent installment of “Lately: Kitchen Creations.” Some hella-sweet creations happening lately! Here’s to taking time off work and treating yourself to kitchen dance parties (complete with apron gown and spatula microphone…
