A really lovely mix of quinoa, shredded cabbage and grape tomatoes in a creamy nutritional yeast, tamari, maple syrup dressing
I made a salad of greens, avocado, carrot, red pepper, avocado and hemp seeds, stuffed it in a wrap along with tofu and garlic mayo (extra on the side for dipping) and served the rest of the salad on the side. Plus more of my homemade ginger-ale I brought up last week: ginger, soda water, agave

Steamed broccoli, grilled sweet potato, micro greens and sunflower sprouts, beet sauerkraut, and adzuki beans on a bed of brown basmati rice
Tofu, jicama, raw tomato and cucumber, peanuts and cabbage in a thick thai peanut sauce on brown basmati rice
Dan and I had this incredibly lovely night where we made homemade caesar salad. Meaning, everything from scratch. I made the dressing completely by hand, stinky anchovies and all. We broiled up a freshly baked local baguette with garlic and butter, and seared the freshest market salmon with butter, garlic, salt and pepper. We even grated fresh parmesan – as in from the block – to top it all off.
It was really special to put so much homemade, careful effort into making a meal for yourself. Homemade food and the satisfaction in knowing it is fresh, real and prepared from the ground up is a really lovely feeling.
And then there’s been, uh, a lot of cake. In various forms…
